Alcohol and Drug Therapist
Outside of The Freedom Center, Corey enjoys playing golf, hiking and most of all being the best father to his three young boys. Although Alcoholics Anonymous was founded nearly a century ago, many of the teachings are still applicable in modern times. Although Step One of AA is something that has to happen within yourself, that doesn’t mean that outside influences can’t help you get there. Working one-on-one with a therapist or attending group meetings can provide the ability to hear how others have worked this step and allow you the opportunity to talk out your own through process. Although you can if you desire, there is no need to work any of the AA steps completely on your own. Contact us to learn more about how we support 12 step programs at The Freedom Center.

Samantha’s own journey of recovery serves as a Alcohol Use Disorder powerful foundation for her therapeutic services. She approaches her work with empathy, understanding, and non-judgment, recognizing that everyone’s path to healing is unique. But for those of us struggling with alcohol addiction or other substance use disorders, logic fails to break the cycle.
Embracing Powerlessness as a Strength
Ambrosia was founded in 2007 with a mission to provide truly individualized substance abuse treatment to every person who enters one of our programs. On the surface, this concept can make it sound as though you have absolutely no control in whether or not you recover from alcohol addiction. However, AA still holds this idea for a reason and, in fact, the idea of powerlessness fits in many ways with the current scientific understanding of addiction. His experience includes working in inpatient, outpatient, partial hospitalization, and long-term residential treatment settings. Andy is passionate about assisting others on their path to recovery and uses a person-centered counseling approach.
